General Instructions & Government Rules

Enhanced Family Pension (50%)
If a Government employee dies while in service or after retirement, the family is eligible for 50% of the Last Pay Drawn / Emoluments as Enhanced Family Pension. -
Duration (Tamil Nadu Pension Rules, 1978 - Rule 49)
Enhanced Family Pension is payable for 7 years from the date of death or up to the date on which the employee would have attained the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier. -
Ordinary Family Pension (30%)
After completion of the Enhanced Family Pension period, the family is eligible for 30% of the Last Pay Drawn / Emoluments as Ordinary Family Pension. -
Service Eligibility
Enhanced Family Pension is admissible only if the Government employee had completed not less than 7 years of continuous Government Service at the time of death. -
Dearness Relief (DR)
Dearness Relief as announced by the Government from time to time shall be payable along with the Family Pension. -
